About the Farm

Virtual Farm Tour

Established in 1997 in rural Chester County, Pennsylvania, Farm at Coventry offers an abundant array of natural, hand-crafted herbal products available by mail order or through retail venues locally. Farm at Coventry grew organically out of a need to use the fruitful harvest of our gardens to make beautiful, healthful products to share with family and friends. We are continually striving to better our products to include the purest possible ingredients: certified organic and ethically cultivated and wild crafted herbs, raw, unfiltered, unbleached tropical butters, cold pressed oils and local beeswax and honey. All of our products are mindfully prepared in small handmade batches. No synthetic ingredients, fragrances or preservatives are ever used.

Our on-line catalog includes:
Faux’ Joe, a tasty (caffeine-free!) coffee alternative, Herbal Bar Soaps, Creams for Face and Body, Therapeutic Baths, Butters and Balms, Comforts for Colds & Flu, Herbal Tea Blends, and more!

Susan’s 9-month “Homestead Herbalism” foundations course meets one Saturday every month from March through November. The course curriculum weaves current informative herbal wisdom with interesting historical facts and folk traditions. Through the seasons, from planting through harvest, we will learn to create delicious, nutritional snacks as well as therapeutic preparations using edible, medicinal and fragrance herbs that are both cultivated and wild crafted. For those who wish to experience a taste of the course, "Herbal Hands Workshops" are individual classes that are offered on the first Saturday of the month.

In the not too distant past, keeping a family strong and healthy with simple home remedies was a common homesteading skill that every woman possessed. Identifying and using wild and cultivated plants was as important and necessary as preserving food or learning to stitch. The "Homestead Herbalism" foundations course was designed to gather small groups of women with the intent of re-introducing this empowering tradition by learning together, using our hands, and preparing and sharing the harvest.
